Why Buying Homeowners Insurance Still Sucks

I was reading a report from Plymouth Rock about homeowner's insurance in particular.

They surveyed a bunch of homeowners nationwide, and they found that 2% of people would still rather get a root canal than buy homeowner's insurance. That is crazy. I mean, I actually kind of believe it.

2% sounds low to me because I know that, in many cases, purchasing homeowners insurance is awful. You're forced to fax documents and go into offices.

You have options shoved down your throat that you don't necessarily understand that feel too expensive.

The process has friction, and you're forced to do things or answer questions that feel uncomfortable, and no one explains to you why you have to answer them. The process just simply sucks.

It's terrible, and you leave it feeling, "ah, I'm just glad that's over with. I never want to have to deal with that again."

So you don't, and that's the problem, my friends.

insurance providers make the process of purchasing insurance difficult

The problem is many insurance providers make the process of purchasing insurance so difficult that when you finally get through it, you never want to deal with it again.

So you don't shop your insurance, and you don't look at other options so that they build this moat of friction around you so that you'll stay, and that's sick and terrible, and it hurts you.

It forces you to pay more than you should for coverage that probably or maybe isn't good enough.

So what I'm telling you is there is a much better way.

This is why I built Rogue Risk to match the best, easy-to-use customer experience functionality of our digital world with the caring and compassion of your local corner agency.

These agencies deal with you like a human and care about you.

That's our culture. That's the type of people that I bring into the agency.

Buying homeowner's insurance shouldn't suck, it should not be fun, but it certainly shouldn't be terrible. It should be interesting, right?

Buying homeowner's insurance should be interesting. You should get a little bit of education. You should feel good about the process.

You should pay a premium that is competitive and that you think is fair. You should do it in a way that isn't tough, and when you're done, you go, ah, that was pretty cool.
