How To Get A Certificate Of Insurance Fast

Need a certificate of insurance fast?

For contractors and professionals in the construction industry, certificates of insurance (or COIs) are a way of life.

Without the right certificate of insurance delivered promptly, you and/or your employees can’t get on a job site or worse, you might not be able to get paid.

Not getting the COIs you need on time can be a major headache.

Today we’re going to solve that problem.

Business Insurance is confusing, time-consuming, and costly.

We fix these problems.

How to Get a Certificate of Insurance Fast

When it comes to certificates of insurance, in most cases, you have some runway, a week, two weeks, or maybe even more, where your general contractor or client will provide you with time to get the certificate you need.

While this is nice, it should never take that long to get the COIs you need.

There are other times, whether it’s an emergency project or a last-second opportunity to walk into a job that will help your business, where you need a certificate of insurance fast.

In these cases, a quick turnaround of certificate of insurance requests is not just nice but vital to your business.

Unfortunately, in the insurance industry, the standard is between 24 and 48-hour turnaround for certificates. This is a crazy standard for most COIs in my mind.

Technology has evolved to a place where there’s absolutely no reason to have a 24-hour turnaround for a certificate of insurance unless you need special endorsements in language that have to go to an underwriter or to the carrier.

There can be some circumstances where it takes additional time to produce a certificate, but in most cases, it should take an hour.

That’s why at Rogue Risk our SLA (Service Level Agreement) is a two-hour maximum turnaround time on certificates of insurance.

Why Fast Certificates of insurance Are Important

Certificates of insurance are what get you paid. COIs get you and your business on job sites.

Regardless of the urgency, it must be done fast. We do this through three different methods:

  • Self-service portal
  • Online form
  • Call or email directly

You can use our self-service portal. As long as what the client or general contractor is requesting meets your current insurance setup, then you can produce that certificate, it’s archived in our system for future use, and send it over to your client.

You can also send us an email or use our online form for any special instructions. If you’d like to email us directly or talk through a certain situation with us, you can always call us on the phone, obviously, or you can have your client or general contractor reach out to us directly and make that request.

Then we get to work.

We have an entire department here at Rogue Risk dedicated to producing certificates of insurance fast.

The Rub

Whether you produce it yourself or our team of insurance specialists handles the certificate of insurance for you, our goal is always to turn it around fast.

We believe this is what you should expect from your insurance agent.

If you’re not getting this level of service, or you don’t have a current relationship with an insurance agent, we’d love to work with you.

I know that sounds like a commercial (and it is…)

But I’m sick of small businesses and particularly contractors having to jump through hoops to get the certificates of insurance they need.

We’ve made it easy.

If you need help or just a little guidance, I encourage you to contact us today.

I look forward to introducing you to a new way of viewing your insurance program.

Thank you,
